      what a strange article

      One bit says
I have a lot of trauma associated with deconstructing children’s fiction on gender political grounds...
      and later on
To object to Walliams, you’d either have to reject the entire canon, from Cinderella on, or you’d have to admit that you just didn’t like the cut of his jib.
so it's neither an attack on him nor a puff piece. I can't actually work out the point of the article other than to invite ******* and bitches to the comment section...... Oh hang on, that IS the point of most Guardian journalism these days. Clickbait to infuriate the easily infuriated.

You know, the original Sleeping Beauty, the Prince finds her asleep, has sex with her without her waking up, and gets her pregnant. It's only when somehow she's delivered of twins, and one of them starts to suckle that she wakes up.

        How's that for #metoo?

Anyone seen the film "Tale of tales"?.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

my parents bought a david whathisname book for my daughters

I started to read it to them and got 25 pages in and gave up

I couldn't muster the energy to explain the slang and why the wife was complaining to the husband that he was useless and didn't have a job and in gutter english to boot

you can keep your david whatshisname

people have tried to say he is the next roald dahl

he is no where near and it's an insult to the late roald dahl to compare the two

if anyone wants the book I'll send it to you

          Milan.

thinking about it I guess the style of writing is more east enders than roald dahl

maybe that's why certain people like it

a dose of east enders and then drum it in with the david whatshisname book and off to sleep

that'll nicely prepare the next generation for the world

            Milan.

Currently reading Boy and Going Solo to my six-year-old son. There's no comparision.

Painting of naked nymphs removed from Manchester Art Gallery to provoke debate about women in art | The Independent

Also I keep seeing promotions for a Modigliani exhibition at the Tate Modern - it's even being advertised on coffee cups. There's are massive posters for it around as well - every time I see it I think "#metoo - how can this be allowed?"

I'll take that as a recommendation.

Apparently they have removed the painting to provoke discussion - I think more they had some feminist punter complaining it attracted peado's....

Before there were photos and porn mags, there was art. The rich would commission pictures of Venus, nymphs, Daphne, Leda and the Swan etc etc so they could have naked pics adorning their houses and palaces, and say it was art, therefore ok.
