How many days holiday do companies give these days? Best I had was 30 days plus BH, worst was 20 plus public holidyas. That's why I'd need a fantastic offer to go perm.

That said, you're a long time retired if you do it right.

Best of luck. I went permie exactly three years ago. Lasted nearly four months before I handed in my month's notice, went back to contracting and then pinched the client. Turns out, I'm not a very good corporate citizen.

Handed my notice in a couple of months ago. New job, even easier commute, 20% pay rise, wfh at least one day a week. Happy days again.

I think it's fair to say your next 6 - 12 months are going to be a lot less stressful than most of ours here! Glad it's working out for you!

By the way, Manchester Christmas meet this year.

Might consider it - as the only permie, etiquette dictates that half the people there will have gone home ill before it's my round.

so why are you so interested in spending your time on a forum which I guess is more suited to contractors? Beats me!

I'm permie - 45 minute each way daily commute (assuming I miss rush hour).

                      32 days per year holiday

can work from home 2 days a week (but mainly only do 1)
