Uk don’t need to do anything. If the US revoke the “special “ trade and financial status of HK, it will cause big problems for them and China, who use HK as a proxy for their needs. Mike Pompeo has already made the threat.

My god, what kind of country have we become. So the tens of thousands of UK passport holders living & working in HK can go to hell?

What a truly inward looking little nation the UK has become.

If the UK is giving up the obligation to look after its citizens abroad then we've truly entered dark time in British history. And all because the government is distracted with one inward looking populist controlling the PM.

              Whataboutery.

What you're saying is we should do something to stop China running HK the way it sees fit. Looking after British citizens is a different issue. We will look after our people in HK the same as we would if they lived in any other country around the world when tulip hits the fan.

The government is not distracted with one populist inward looking PM - it's distracted by covid, Cummings and Brexit.

China is taking the Pi$$ and the world knows it. They start off with incursions into India, Hong Kong. Next it'll be Taiwan. The West ought to officially recognise the independence of Taiwan, el pronto.

Attack on Taiwan an option to stop independence, top China general says

If you want to play fantasy Chinese politics, it would be more fun to recognise the Republic of China government in Taiwan as the legitimate government of China, and denounce the Beijing CCP administration as a rebel group.

Could we get back on to the stock market crashing please? Because, for the time being, it does not seem to have received the message.
