Millenials - What years does it include?

I was reading a post today talking about how Millennials have come up with their own language more focused on text speak/emoticons yada yada yada and they are smarter than people give them credit for...usual rubbish from the Metro but hey its a slow work day!

Anyway...something it did say that made me think...A Millennial is someone born between 1981 and 2000

I am born in '87 and in no way do I consider myself a Millennial.
I would have thought it would be anyone born after 2000?

You tried googling it? That's what a proper millennial would have done.

Were you the first to discover vinyl/reel to reel tape?
      love/hate relationship with social media?
      hard time finding work?
      Refuse to buy diamonds?
      Hate talking on the phone?
Believe there is no reward for loyalty anymore?
Will opt to never have children?
Want a place to live after working 60 hours a week?
      Love brunch & avocado toast?
      Poor but on trend?
Do you constantly seek approval from others?
      Don't have any work ethic?
      Don't have much concentration?
      Love gin and microbrewery beers?

Don't worry about you DOB - Answer yes to any of the three above and commiserations, you are a Millenial.

The recently coined 'Xennials' I think applies here

            https://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...-a8043806.html

Generally refers to people who had an analogue childhood but a digital adulthood.

Phew, one more of those and I'd have been a millennial, despite being born closer to the Boer War (1899- 1901) than today!

The main reason I'd refuse to buy diamonds (besides not having the spare cash) is that in twenty years it will probably be possible to churn out flawless diamonds the size of gulls eggs anyway, for PC heat sinks among other things.

So as a long-term investment, diamonds, and jewellery generally, are probably pretty useless.

(P.S. I just checked that spelling of "jewellery", because it didn't look quite right, and it turns out Septics spell it "jewelry" )

edit: but I have lots of boomer traits
