If renting and assuming that you don't have kids of school age, where Tervuren and Waterloo are your best bets, I am a big big fan of Genval (30 mins into town), as close as you can get to the lake. Sept Fontaines is great - if you need a palace.
Living in Brussels center - well I guess if you eat out a lot, but it is hideously expensive to eat out, also your solcial life will mostly involve Eurocrats.
Buy this place and you can watch my dad in his underpants in the morningComment

Permanent residency in a Schengen state is automatically valid in all other Schengen states, so effectively your residency will apply to virtually all countries in the EU, including Norway and Switzerland.
Congratulations.

Originally posted by sasguru View PostBeen a busy few months. Sold main house (a very nice Indian gentleman paid 1.4 million for it), now renting round the corner.
Been offered a permie job in Brussels with all the benefits and a nice relocation package so will take that while I figure out how the Belgies work with contracting.
Missus working out her notice and we move next month.
Looking forward to a new adventure - probably the last one before retirement in Portugal, yayComment
