English insecurity is always amusing to watch.

Not racist. Just another example of a non-productive parasite with an over-inflated sense of his own importance demonstrating his own ignorance and insecurity. I stopped worrying about them years ago.

I' m more irritated by the Wels names for places In Pembrokeshire that are resolutely English-named (albeit a mix of 11th century Flemish and Elizabethan English. Milford Haven for example is now Aberdaugleddau, which is inaccurate at several levels...

Ynys Mon AM Rhun ap Iorwerth said the column was "prejudicial poison" which would not be acceptable if it referred to any other religion, race or people.

That can't be a real name, even in Wales...

Edit - from one of the tweets below:
Someone called Rod Liddle says in the Sunday Times that 'Welsh has no real vowels'. 'Ignorant' has 3 vowels. 'Ignorant' in Welsh is 'anwybodus' and has 5.
No mate, it might be 5 syllables, but still only 3 vowels.

I worked there. Renaming it seems like a great alternative for a place I'd rather forget...

QED. You English really ought to learn a little more about your country...

Ynys Mon is the original name of Anglesey (another English-enforced name...). AM is "Assmebly Member". Rhun is an old Welsh forename and "ap Iowerth" is "the son of Iowerth" in the same way that MacTavish is the son of Tavish.

No mate. Welsh has 7 vowels. a,e,i,o,u,w and y. It's different language from English; the letters have different sounds. Just as as in German, "w" is pronounced "vee", or in French "h" isn't even pronounced.

    What's parochial idiot in Welsh?

Why is Wales so hilly? They took so much land from the English, they had to put it somewhere.
