No, he was comparing that speech and it’s possible effects to what happened in certain camps. It’s quite possible to have an adult conversation about immigration without referring to a speech that incites racial hatred.

Unfortunately, it’s mainly the bigots and racists that pick up on this speech as their talisman, rather than condemning the speech for what it is and having a proper conversation.

In which sentence did he suggest rounding up all immigrants and turning their possessions & even bodies into profit? He was trying to have an intelligent conversation, he was hounded out of office. Any attempt to discuss immigration is met with horror.

He suggested immigration at the level happening at the time with chain migration would make immigrants a significant proportion of the population in a relatively short time. This would lead to failure to integrate and significant disturbances. This has been proven true.

He suggested positive discrimination was a mistake. I tend to agree when we have the Police & Government afraid to tackle people because of their ethnicity.

He recommended we cut immigration and fund those who wished to return to their home countries. That seems a reasonable suggestion.

He was happy allow a small number of highly skilled migrants and watch them integrate, to take back knowledge to improve their home country. They can come & study, work in the NHS etc.

Presumably Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and from that area and if so, then most of the ethnic people of Wolverhampton are from the Commonwealth which is all part of the Great British Empire...Notice that there are no Europeans in those figures apart from White British...I would suggest downloading the actual census from ONS to look at the real figures....

Yes much of the migration was from the commonwealth, however having a trading empire like most European countries however violently it was obtained (the British were quite benevolent compared to The Belgians, Spanish & the French) isn't a reason for un-managed immigration.

The argument is about immigration not race. The fact that most of the immigration in 1960 was to take cheap labour from the Carribean and hence the "black man" was the face of this mass migration, yet those from Eastern Europe drove many of the votes for Brexit.
