It's not exactly related to the original post, which I see as an anti-vegan, anti-vegetarian message, but rather to do with maintaining the purity of the language. I suppose up stream it probably is the same, or at least comes from the same mindset that language can be controlled at a state level. Maybe it's because English is such a hybrid language we lost caring on this stuff 950 years ago but i don't think the consumer needs to be protected from the usage of vegetarian haggis and I think(hope) the UK would laugh at such a statist intervention.
