Luxury villa with private pool, a view and help in the sun-drenched Italian, Potuguese, or Spanish countryside or Greek island.
But you probably can't afford it.
    Hard Brexit now!

      Suggestions?
Vacation? So you've been benched #Loser

Why don't you just go to your place in the sun, all successful contractors have one, even I do!

        Looks great.

It's nice that you're bringing the missus for once.

          Not for her, obviously.

In many respects travel, or a holiday, is about finding one's own personal Arcadia.

It is possible to spend many thousands of pounds and travel the same number of miles to a tropical paradise to find oneself surrounded by fellow IT professionals, as happened to a colleague of mine. Who, in the name of God would want to be drawn into a conversation about the finer details of C++ whilst lounging by the pool?

On the other hand, you can have a week in a caravan at Brean for a tiny fraction of the price, not have to get on a plane and come back feeling considerably more refreshed, if not so tanned.

Agreed. Holiday of choice for me is on a narrow boat. Quickest way to unwind. Has the advantage that most comms is out until you get to the pub.

Is Brean the exclusive end of the Burnham-on-Sea caravan area, or separate from it?

I've heard the coast and its hinterland along Burnham on Sea is the largest caravan centre in Europe. Doesn't sound like my ideal Arcadia but there you go. Maybe there are quiet parts.

Had a quick look for Brean on Google maps and it is clearly the furthest north, but looks somewhat inconvenient to make a quick trip by road to Weston Super Mare for an evening out

Something that happened to me and my mate Tony at Brean one year when we got lucky and had two birds beam end up at the front of the van.
