Unless of course the twots chose in 2012 to digitise court records before destroying them & then store on Yorkshire police system (the only one that maintains till death do us part) - meaning misdemeanour's of youth, long forgotten will live on until death or you're 100

Oh and be sure to submit an access request to check on what's actually there as they kindly added offences committed by others of the same surname to the record

    Twots!
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

The things IBs hate most are lieing, bankruptcy and arrests for financial crime.

Arrested fir being drunk and disorderly at university are unlikely to be an issue. Unless you lie.

That has to be the best question I think I've seen asked on here in a very long time!

Sound funny doesn't it - i agree - but its serious stuff I can assure you !

Once your conviction is spent, you can legally lie about it when applying for jobs requiring a basic DBS check and insurance. This means you can generally answer “no” to the question about convictions. Being aware of how the law works will ensure you are able to work out if your convictions are spent or not.

A simple guide to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (ROA) - theInfoHub by Unlock | for people with convictions and criminal recordstheInfoHub by Unlock | for people with convictions and criminal records

The financial industry can apply the 'exceptions' detailed in 1975 amendment, but the 'role' must be of a certain type. these roles come under something called 'Controlled Functions'

This whole piece of legsilation is going through some significant change at the moment it seems with pending supreme court case known and 'T'

It worth reading up on if you need to know more.

If it was something trivial - fess up, most likely they won't care. If they do care, they likely have the means to to get your record, ROA or not, in which case it's instant bin for lying.

If it's not trivial - lie and hope for the best.

Which when you think about the types of people who work in investment banks is actually quite ironic.

The OP asked about arrests, not convictions.

Arrests have nothing to do with the court unless you subsequently appear in court for the alleged offence and are found to be guilty.

An arrest and subsequent release without charge will be lucky if it even makes it into a policeman's notebook and does not constitute any kind of 'criminal record'.
