You failed to add SAS's quote from the 22nd June. Perhaps the BoE has decided things have changed in the last couple of weeks since those wise words.

    does not compute!

    "stronger consumer spending"

    "Strong economy"

    "record low unemployment"

These are some of the words used by MSM yesterday. So in the face of such robust economic strength the BoE keeps interest rates to 0.75%

    Someone somewhere is telling porkies.
“We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

The economy is only held up by high house prices and has been for years. Rates have to be low to keep the emporers clothes in view.
