    As I said earlier; "uneducated...etc."

    By all means protest, and try to rewrite history to align with your current beliefs. But if you think that a worthwhile way to spend your time - it isn't, but these are basically children with an over-inflated sense of their own importance - then at least attack the right sodding target.

      If you can keep your head when all about you
      Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
      If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
      But make allowance for their doubting too;
      If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
      Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
      Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
      And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

      If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
      If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
      If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
      And treat those two impostors just the same;
      If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
      Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
      Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
      And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:

      If you can make one heap of all your winnings
      And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
      And lose, and start again at your beginnings
      And never breathe a word about your loss;
      If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
      To serve your turn long after they are gone,
      And so hold on when there is nothing in you
      Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

      If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
      Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
      If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
      If all men count with you, but none too much;
      If you can fill the unforgiving minute
      With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
      Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
      And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

      No doubt about it...........crammed full of blatant and sinister racist undertones.............only visible to the terminally dense of course!

        Revisionism & Vandalism are old ideas. These were despised by anyone who didn't think wiping their own poo on the wall was clever. History is set in stone understand it and change the future.

        Kipling's IF is timeless. Just as 'The Prince' & 'Candide' are, they are a product of their time.

        I wonder if when the African Nations finally get bored of killing each other they will see being a colony as a golden age or at least not quite as crap as tribal violence was.

        The Indians I know see some good came out of East India trading with them then occupation, in a "what have the British done for us" way.

        As usual students show their ignorance.
        Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

          F**k em, they'll be working in Maccies soon enough, unable to afford his cakes, let alone his books.

                  I see a Kipling Poem and I want it painted white
                  No Sense anymore I want them to be inclusive
                  I see wimmin walk by exercising their rights
                  I have to turn my head until my prejudice goes

                  Next you will add something from an approved artist that understands the struggle?

                    Right wing snowflakes complaining about left wing snowflakes...
                    Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
