Why is no one talking about Turkey?

Not unlike what was happening in Greece so many years ago, spending more than they earned. Greece was then saved by the EU, the peace maintained. Meanwhile we have the right opposite now occurring in Turkey, who is going to save them? The collapse of this country on the EU's doorstep will not end well. Incredible. This was the medicine many on here were calling for, for Greece not 10 year ago.

In a televised speech on Friday, President Erdogan called on citizens to exchange foreign currency and gold for lira, calling it an "economic war".
Less than 24% later the Lira drops 20%. - He should have added *this is not financial advice* What a nutter.

There is no logical reason for the drop in Turkish Lira other than speculation. Turkey has a strong manufacturing base but they have upset the USA.

Some might say this is a good reason: Trump doubles metal tariffs on Turkey as lira falls by 20%

Brexiters are not afraid of a worthless currency.

        Grow some.

        Or even better, print some.

Aha - adopt the leaf as currency. Then burn down all the forests.

            Probably to do with this

Also they are increasing co operation and even hinting at joining the BRICS

"We wish to conclude membership negotiations between our Treasury and Finance Ministry and BRICS' new development bank in a short term. We can team up to establish […] more objective credit rating agencies," Erdogan said at the summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Buying Russian weapons, joining the BRICS all whilst being in NATO?

The situation in Greece was also fostered by the EU and the IMF. The abusive partner that buys you nice things on valentines.

Well the abusive partner dint seem to come off so well did it? Goldman Sachs however...

As the idiot in Chief already said, dismantling NATO is the goal and it was the goal all along - it is in Russia's interest so it MUST be done. We have a military base in Turkey, close to Russian borders and it is imperative that the base gets closed and removed and Trump is just the man for the job.
