    Wheeeee! Splat!

US F-35 stealth fighter crashes for first time in history of programme

Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

Remind me again how many of these things are we buying?

One of the hazards of flying, ultimately this invisible force we call Gravity will return you to terra firma, or not so terra firma in the case of landing on water.

I think most aircraft have crashed at least once in their flying history for one reason or another. A military aircraft crash is more likely than a commercial aircraft due to the likelihood of someone firing 'stuff' at you.

It is a sophisticated aircraft and probably has the unpowered aerodynamics of a bumble bee. Hence any software error/glitch could cause it to do something the pilot wasn't expecting/requesting. Only if they start to crash on a regular basis is I likely to be a cause for concern.

One has to remember that it was being flown by a Marine.

Oooooorah, Gunny, the fecking wings just fell off.

That lot managed to crash AV8Bs with monotonous regularity.

      Well there's a thing:

They have a strong tendency to dump MV22's on a regular basis too...........

Maybe there is a pattern/common denominator here they should be made aware of.

Stop calling themselves Marines and perhaps they'll try harder to keep their aircraft in the air.

            Doubtful.

Navy : Why do Marines bang their heads against walls?

            Army: Dunno, why?

Navy : Because it feels nice when they stop.

            Marine : <Thud> Owww <Thud> Owww <Thud> Owww.

I once asked a Para who is greatest enemy was. Apparently it is the marines.
