Daily Mail demands browser warning U-turn - BBC News

The Daily Mail is calling for a web browser alert that criticises its journalism to be changed.

The NewsGuard plug-in currently brings up a warning that says the newspaper's website "generally fails to maintain basic standards of accuracy and accountability".

It has given this advice since August.

But the matter came to prominence last week, after Microsoft updated its Edge browser app for Android and iOS devices and built in NewsGuard.

    --------------

Only since August? Maybe they mean August 1896?

Such warnings are themselves manipulative in that they are someone elses opinion. No point switching to Edge as it'll soon be Chrome anyway

It’s a plugin that MS have added to Edge’s standard installation. So even when the rendering engine is replaced with Chromium (not Chrome, which is a browser) the plugin will work exactly the same way.
