    Default Contracting abroad

    Hello all ,

Hope all is well. I’ve been offered a post in Germany, but finding a decent accountant has been hard to say the least.

It seems the way forward is to go the “self employed “ status, which requires no Ltd company. Well that’s great for me as I wound my last one down.

Does anyone have any recommendations for accountants specialised in working abroad? To be honest this problem is giving me cold feet.

    Many thanks!

I presume you're an EU citizen, if not and there is no deal, working in Germany won't be possible without a visa.

    Yep, sorry, from the UK.

I think the conclusion I have come to is that I’ll be best going as “self employed “. So it’s just a case of seeing if anyone has had acceptable experience with accountants?

Just to add I’m not going to think about a “no deal”. It’s 3 month rolling acontract , so by the time anything kicks in I’ll probabl be long gone.

    That the UK thinking talk.

My local Amt (what's that in English?!) have been very proactive. Several letters sent out regarding 'Br£$t' and what I need to do to prepare. Guess how many I've received from the home office. Nadda. Ganz nicht.

But then again if you were in the UK you'd have seen the Ad's telling you to visit gov.co.uk.

I've received bugger all from mine but then I don't need anything :-)
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
