    Divorce

Not sure if it’s the right place but has anyone been through this?
My wife is a shareholder and director but doesn’t have another job.

Is it too painful to continue the “ltd co” model for money or is it better to make a clean break and just pay her out of ongoing money?

I don’t want to see her struggle, both kids are grown up (ish - in uni ).

    Any advice welcome

That makes no difference to the money.

Definetly start a new company. The more distance you put between you and her the better.

With kids that old, assets will be split 50/50(can I do the old give half to the lawyers joke?). However your wife can expect a reasonable income(even 50% of take home) for life.

Ancillary relief is a very complex area of law. Divorce and child access can be done without a lawyer. But you will probaby need a lawyer. I would suggest asking what she wants. If you can get a clean break settlement (all assets, no income) all the better. Remember that if she gets 1p a year, it can be varied. Clean break cannot be.

Feel free to PM me. Though don't make it too long. I am currently between bans but never sure how long that will last. And admin requires an increasing amount of grovelling to let me back.....

Get married, she goes contracting, then you get half.

Get a woman who is sexy. A woman who is kind. A woman who is a good housekeeper. A woman who is good with children.

Then make sure these women never meet.

To be fair, your sparkling personality already took care of that...

Does this still apply even if she gets a job or remarries?
