I know Tarby well enough to confirm that this story is probably true...

Aye, his TV has higher standards than him

Watched countdown a couple of weeks ago with mudskipper on it.

The questions were really difficult, and she's obviously one of those sickening people who can romp through a Times crossword, writing out the answers as fast as she can read the clues!

Years ago, I had a contract that was highly paid, but there wasn't much to do. The client was aware of this but didn't want to let us go for various reasons. To pass the time, a group of us started attempting the Times cryptic crossword. It only took a couple of months to get quite good at it and be able to finish it most times. I can't do it quite so quickly now as I'm out of practice, but at one time I was able to attempt the Listener Crossword. Those can be quite tough.

I applied years ago, but never got on :-(

There may be a couple of reasons for that...

You're thick and about as photogenic as a baboon's arse!

Apprentice would be a far better show for MF.

And for this weeks task, contestants have to pick some tat to sell in a shop in mid summer. One contestant has got some sledges to sell.....

Brief reappearance end of June for finals, but unlikely to be hanging around long in such talented company!
