Much shorter working weeks needed to tackle climate crisis – study | Environment | The Guardian

UK workers must move to nine-hour week if carbon levels do not change, says thinktank.

Excellent. Only I can do 9 hours in a day then jet off somewhere for a 6 day break.....

You'll more likely need to spend the rest of the week chopping wood or digging coal/peat in order to keep warm

Image you doing a 9 hour week. Thats a nine fold increase. How would you find enough sexist/racist comments to fill the time?

Bring back 'Buy British' so we are in control of our consumer related pollution.

The UK impact on global climate is so insignificant the best motivation to recycle and keep on the 'green' side of things is by doing so you contribute to a better local environment.

Unfortunately British manufacturing isn’t the powerhouse it once was, but the British food industry is still fairly strong. The “downside” being that you need to shop local and eat seasonal.

If you can find a local farm shop it will be much cheaper to.

A shorter working week? So what will people do with the extra leisure time that will consume a lot less energy? How will it be enforced?
