Forget objections. The question is whether it is legal.

The term has a meaning, but feel free to ignore it if you wish.

It's a bit rich though when Mel Stride is under investigation for a conflict of interest!

It’s the kind of criminal activity that is sanctioned by the Govt - the objective is to increase tax collection in the UK that otherwise would not have happened here, where as when UK taxpayers (little people) try to scam the Outland Revenue then this is when the thumbs get broken

The question is what does it mean - and who does it apply to?

I know this has been done to death but when these bits of news come out I find it helpful to remind myself of the selective nature of HMRC's priorities when it comes to tax collection.

HMRC selects targets it thinks it can win. Once you remove morality as a factor, then each side (tax avoider and HMRC) is looking to maximise their financial position within the law. So it's no good complaining that a loan charge is immoral. The question is, is it legal?

Cryptocurrency can only dream of being this criminal, funding terror and misery around the world.
“We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

    Linky?

I remember newspaper reports (which were sensationalist - his conflict of interest was declared), I don't remember him being under investigation.
