Not really, we've been getting virtually the same from Rory Stewart, Dominic Grieve, Tobias Ellwood, and (almost) Ken Clarke. Whether any of them really have the guts to pull the trigger on that remains to be seen, of course.

Ken Clarke is retiring and other MPs in the group are in the process of being deselected so they may as well go down in a blaze of glory. It only takes 2 MPs to rebel.

Sorry, I didn't hear it first here on CUK, and you keep saying the same thing.

Have you considered the possibility they might be bluffing to influence BoJo? Are you actually assuming they are being honest?

Have you considered all the things that have to happen for there to be a Corbyn government?

Have you considered all the reasons why this might not be such a good idea for people like Clarke and Grieve? I'll leave it to you to exercise your brain on that one, but they have a lot of personal incentive to not put Corbyn in power, let alone the undoubted harm they know it would do to the country.

Before assuming that someone is going to carry through on a threat, it's always a good idea to think about what it would cost them to do so. Especially if you are dealing with intelligent people. These aren't the kind of people to do it without thinking through all the ramifications.

When somebody makes a threat one needs to consider how much both sides got to lose.
