When I asked DaveB or FredBloggs to take a look at the website, it was for them to have a bit of a rummage as they are much better at that kind of thing than I am.

You have to ask yourself a few questions when reading any article.

    • Who wrote the article? - is it from a well known and respected author or is some noddy keyboard warrior?
    • Why did they write the article? What is their agenda?
    • Is the article professionally researched and written? - Poor grammar and spelling mistakes means either sloppy or amateur production. No citations means that it's heresay or just made up.
    • What do they gain from writing the article? - from an individual or organisation pov.

I am highly dubious about this article - I think that the one-man band 'research' organisation doesn't know what proper research is - Quora quotes or there [sic] own opinion do not count as research.

As a previous poster said, some valid points are mixed in with exaggeration - which is one definition of fake news.
Fake news: What is it? And how to spot it - CBBC Newsround

(And yes - I do appreciate that it's a Newround article..)

It does have some valid points, but 50% is over exaggerated and made up.
    50% sounds about right.

Although the report highlights some of the more extreme examples, I have encountered most of these tactics to various degrees. I have also watched my wife, who is a black IT contractor, been subject to far worse treatment than me, even though we have been in the same room together, although those present didn't know we were married at the time.

Based on the writing style, I somehow get the feel that the report is at least partially written by somebody from India, probably from one of the less cool castes.

And I am not Indian, nor do I like outsourcers. But stuff in that article is 50% made up by some racist.
It's just racist nonesense until you experience it.

I worked in a small team of 4 at a well known bank in Halifax. My teammates were a Nigerian, an Indian and a lad born and bred in the UK. All were black, I was the only 'white' face in the team. They were all great. But I noticed all 'team' and 'work' discussions were being decided amongst the three and not the 4 of us.

I was effectively being treated as the office junior despite all of us being in the same role. The situation became so untenable (imo) I decided not to renew the 3 month contract despite the bank wanting to extend.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

I don't think I ever claimed that so-called "reverse" racism does not exist. The only thing I claimed, that article is a made up horror story and has its target audience.
Not sure why this was posted in Business/Contract. It should be in General/Brexit.
