"Boris Johnson: Premiership will be the start of a golden age"

Boris Johnson: Premiership will be the start of a golden age - BBC News

The promise of a golden age is a typical start for most fascists in power. You fuel the people with fantasy and hope but there is no substance. We have joined Erdogan's Turkey, Oban's Hungary, Salvini's Italy, Trump's Ameria and the Saudi's as the extreme right wing governments of the world. This is not who we are and the sooner this lot are out of government the better. Britain deserves better.
“We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we've barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us.”

    Actually you're all saved....

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Wisdom which could only have come from a Bavarian bunker.

In my fantasy bubble Boris's inaugural speech:

“We've always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. Only Banks, Corbyn and John McDonnell signed the motion, but with a quick glance at world events, we’re beginning to wonder if they were just ahead of the curve.

    Love it:

for reasons that are perhaps understandable, some Tory MPs are perhaps worried that Johnson does not always mean what he says.
