Let fat people die to save NHS money, says Michael Buerk | News | The Times

I suppose if climate change is going to averted anyone with a BMI over a certain amount needs to be deprecated. And that is the end of rugby players.....

He seems to be getting onto the same bandwagon as former national treasure David Attenborough. I'm starting to think there's something wrong with the Boomers as a whole, you didn't get this kind of talk from the Greatest/Silent generation much. They were willing to die so that others could live.

one of the problems with a socialised healthcare system . . . everytime someone want's or needs treatment they are a cost, there's no incentive to prevent illness or offer proactive treatment

If you want to reduce climate change, eat someone. Start with the over 70s, who are a drain on resources. Then move to the over 60s. Then financial managers including HMRC. And anyone who has had (or wants) more than 2 children. And of course, cyclists.

Whilst I am aware some people do have medical conditions which mean they struggle to lose weight - an awful lot of people who carry to much weight do so due to poor lifestyle choices...

Not a lot of eating on the aged. Luckily there's more and more of them every year

If everyone was healthy then you wouldn't need a health service! It's job creation, init?

It also means we get rid of them faster. Let's say one fat person weighs the same as 3 old people.
3 old people = 3 houses with the heating on at 28C all year round.
1 fat person = 1 house, normal temp.

So, it solves the food shortage, the housing shortage and uses less energy.
You also have less traffic on the roads, fewer accidents and fewer queues at the shops.

if someone chooses what you call a 'poor' lifestyle, WTF business is it of the state to interfere?
I think fat people are generally quite revolting to look at, and I laugh at them but it's up to them.....

disclaimer: I'm not so thin any more either but it's MY FLUCKING CHOICE
