The capitalist economy needs "growth" i.e. consumers, which means population increases are kind of built in.
On the other hand 50% of any population are too thick to be productive in the modern world, yet want to consume like the rest, so you have schemes like universal credit, funded by the state, so they can keep spending. Meanwhile fat cat CEOs earn millions however crap they are - witness Thomas Cook bosses.

Therein lies the biggest problem of modern society, how do you keep the 50% of the pop. which are to the left of the Gaussian curve busy?

Only very few countries have solved this problem, one of which is Germany which retained its manufacturing to keep the stupids busy.
I was stunned to learn that Germany still has factories making pencils FFS and they can do this profitably.
So your starting to see why Brexit is a good idea for the luddites, get Britain manufacturing again.

Have you ever heard of an economist named Mark Blyth? Read his book and find out why what you've posted is a lie.

Unfortunately to get manufacturing going, you need to have apprentices and students who get the chance to do practical studies. But that means changing the education system and the cost of it.
And that’s not something that can be done in 3 years.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

So this Mark Blyth chappie has found the absolute truth of economics?
Or could it be that you're a credulous cretin?

You should dump that inferiority complex, it's really holding you back.

Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has criticised Greta Thunberg's speech about climate change.
Speaking at an energy conference in Moscow, Mr Putin said: "Nobody explained to Greta that the modern world is complicated and complex."

I have to ask, how is that a criticism?

I just can't see anything will change.
China are building a hundred coal power stations and I'm not convinced I've ever used a straw that has become embded in a giant turtle's nose.
