I had one guy who sent me loads of jobs with the word "administrator" in the title. Im a Sys Admin.

Office admin, accounts admin etc - common thing was it was a few miles from me.

Best one was the guy who sent me the same ad every week for about 10 weeks. For some sort of engineer specialising in waster water or something. Looks like his search engine found me because one of my clients had the word "water" in its title.

You should have applied for it and acted with genuine interest.

Best case, the agent puts your CV forward, then he gets sacked and has to go back to flipping burgers for a living.

Worst case scenario, you get the gig and have to unblock drains, remove fatbergs, etc.

Yeh. Quick flip through "Nuclear Plants for Dummies" in bed. Easy.

In a similar vein, I was once helping to recruit a Head of Development, with a specialism in customer systems like CRM etc.

Had one person send in their CV who was a film production assistant. Her whole career had been in media and it was obvious she didn't know the first thing about IT never mind running a large-ish dev team.

Through the client's application tracking system, we could see she had previously applied for multiple Head Of roles in IT as well as other functions.

I couldn't understand why someone would keep applying for roles so far outside their area of expertise or competence.

Trouble is, the location (Portsmouth) would tend to indicate there's a military aspect (possibly something to do with submarines). Suity might as well watch *that episode* of the Simpsons for all the use it would be...

They don't have an area of competence, so what do you expect them to do?
