    Childish.

Lifting people up is the aim. It doesn’t happen by magic, and there’s no free solution. Paying a fraction more isn’t going to bring everyone else down.

Food banks and homelessness are verifiable. Ignoring them isn’t going to make them go away.

The only way inequality has ever been reduced is by a depression. Though depressions are usually caused by inequality.

An inflated bubble will eventually pop.

Bring it on. Anything to get house prices down.

What's Germany doing about getting rid of its food banks?

There will be poor always. Pathetically struggling.

            Ian Gillan was right....

It doesn't work that way, it never has, socialism is a pipedream.

Capitalism is good if there is a way up for hard working people. However social mobility opportunities are fewer.

                  Fewer than what/when?

It could be argued that with the advent of more people being given the opportunity to go to university that your argument is moot - unless you agree that more people going to University has actually diluted its value.

There is a general perception that social mobility is reduced.

I was reading an interesting article in the week - can't remember where it was originally published. However it said that in places where there is most social unrest, the number of university graduates has increased alot of the last few decades. And the issue is too many graduates, not enough jobs.

Going to university is great. But it needs jobs for those graduates. And when those people get jobs, they need to feel they can get houses, families, etc.

Anyway the issue is easily solved. The world is overpopulated. Everyone should be sterilized. That will fix there being too many graduates soon enough.....

I have no interest in what Germany is doing. I live in the U.K.

I applaud you for having the confidence to look abroad for ideas for solutions to problems, though.

Tell that to Norway, Finland, Sweden, etc.

I agree that hard left socialism is a pipe dream, and as harmful to large swathes of the country just as the current Tory approach of hard right capitalism is.

It doesn’t have to be hard left or hard right, there’s a middle ground where we can still make an attempt to care for the people left behind.
