It's fascinating reading the comments on FB around various posts on the election. The number of presumably brain-dead people who think Corbyn is an honest politician and whose populist policies are good for the UK are quite frightening. Clearly they have no understanding of how they would be delivered - not that they will, of course.

Corbyn says he wants to prevent a "damaging Tory B****t".

But the irony of it is, if the Tories get a majority, it will be his fault. He is the reason millions of people won't vote Labour.

I don't think it matters much if he is or isn't, it's about whose policies will be less damaging.

Lying about whether you shagged some publicity-hungry American bird is one thing, being deluded that making the UK a socialist state under Momentum boot-boy rule is going to be good for everyone is on quite a different level of danger.

Actually, I think he may be an honest politician. His personal relationship car crashes can (or at least should) be ignored. His ideas on the big policies are at least achievable and he recognises the roadblocks that are damaging the country.

Corbyn is promising free gifts for all: broadband (likely cost £100bn plus destruction of a key industry), childcare (£70bn or so), four day weeks (cost immeasurable but will do more damage to the NHS then anything else ever will for a start), better trains (despite the key failing being the bit run by the government already) and a load more. Scarily, there are numpties out there who are falling for it, who are ignoring Momentum's key policies and their £1.2tn cost and who think the dim-witted Corbyn is actually in charge.

So what was that about honesty?.

Johnson’s dalliances can and should only be ignored to the extent that they don’t present a security risk. Whether they are or not, will remain to be seen. Honesty about his relationships could be a start, though.

Interesting that you name specific Labour policies, but leave the Tory ones as “big picture” items and not specifics. Scarily, there are numpties out there who are falling for it. Perhaps these should also be costed to see what the magic money tree can provide?
