What is that funny smell round here? Can anyone decide?

Oh yes. It is Mal's credit rating......

Also (although simpler) didn't mention the loss of things like child benefit.
I think the purpose was to explain how the Income Tax bands work rather a full illustration

Perhaps, but omitting NI which the poster must have known about makes it come across as somewhat dishonest.
NI is simple enough that it should have been included.

Three day weeks were brought in by the Conservative PM Edward Heath.

It’s really not hard to look this stuff up.

            So up yours, dear boy.
Nope again. Extended greatly by Labour, but started under the Conservatives.

And the largest percentage paid by any trust is a little over 16%.

Have you forgotten the 13.8% Employers NI?

Because of the power cuts caused by the striking miners. (Although I do agree Heath was an idiot).

Neither do you. Know what I'm talking about, that is. I didn't say I support Labour. I just welcomed their introducing the general concept of increasing overall tax in order to fund state services. Because of ingrained prejudice like yours, it will take a long time for the populace to get on board. But it has to happen. You can rant on about all the inefficiencies of Health, Education, Infrastructure etc but those are inevitable. Stop whining. If you are in a pub and you want another round it's no use complaining about the prices. Get your wallet out or go thirsty.

Which of course is all the fault of Labour. Anything bad is Labour's fault.

Given the links between the Labour Party and Unions at the time, there's some truth in that.
