Interesting how you didn't link to the article you got from the Express. If you had, you'd have seen the footnote to say that they calculate the value using a proprietary algorithm.

But then again, if he's got a net worth of 3% of vir populus, Jacob Rees-Mogg, it's practically the same value.

Indeed. Terrible isn't it? Populism hasn't really got a great track record historically.

He owns a house in a now-fashionable area of London, so that’s going to account for a large chunk of his supposed worth. And would the money he’s “claimed from the state” since the late 1980s include thirty years of his salary and expenses as an MP by any chance?

Sorry, I forgot this bit from the article in Spears.

I thought it was the worth of his photo collection of man hole covers. Thanks for correcting me.

              The Spears Article

With no evidence to back up this claims or how they arrived at the numbers.

I’d expect the leader of a party to earn more than a standard MP, wouldn’t you?

Correct. The Spears article doesn’t mention how they arrived at their figure, but they quote his current earnings.

Did I state that he had been party leader for 30 years, or did you make that up?

Nope. I wouldn’t vote for him. He’s not PM material in my opinion.
