Plenty on other wards were too old to care for themselves but there were no care home spaces free.

Every time anything changes it takes them a week to respond or do tests.

The reason so many workers are foreign born is because we are too cheap to train our own so we steal other countries Doctors & Nurses.

8 million more people in the UK since 1997 have you seen 3-4 million more houses or 7 more hospitals the size of St Georges or 800 new GP surgeries??

The big problem is the extra population was neither discussed with the current population or planned for by the government. If you want to defend that then go ahead & try!
Bed blocking is not something one does by choice. The term implies it's the patient blocking the bed, which is not true. It's the lack of resources in the wider system that stops people with non-medical care needs from being moved to an appropriate place once their acute needs have been met. It's an awful term and doesn't accurately describe the situation.

The plural of anecdote is not data.

England is too cheap to train their own. Wales, Scotland, and NI retained their nursing bursaries.

“In contrast, the number of student nurses has risen in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, which retained those incentives.”

You ask a good question: if England is saving money by not training nurses, and is taking the tax intake of extra people, where are the hospitals?

The NHS wasn’t doing that badly up until 2009, so what have the Conservatives done with all the money?

Precisely the government has dropped funding for mental health & community health schemes leaving the NHS as the last bastion of care. I never suggested the patient was at fault in fact I suggested that it was detrimental to the patient's experience.

Australia is one destination. But continue with your drunken irrelevance. It's entertaining.

so basically you agree with me, the facts are out there , I just shared personal experience.

Bed blocking - what is it, and is it paralysing the NHS? - Full Fact

and yes it seems despite lots of new tax payers and fewer services per head there seems a lot less in the Kitty so yes someone should ask the difficult question where is all the cash???

I bet you don't realise that mental health and community health services are part of the NHS.

so our Australian cousins are just as bad as us so its ok?

so I ask the question again as again you misunderstood it and just insulted me to confirm your inability to conduct a sensible discussion.

What percentage of German,French or Italian health workers are foreign born? Is it higher than our 13%?

Your original post appeared to intimate that it was the patient’s fault, blocking the beds. Both links you provide are clear that it is a problem of funds to the NHS, particularly since 2014.

It’s not a difficult question. The Conservatives have been the Government, ask them what they did with it instead of insinuating that it is somehow the fault of patients or the general population.

yep sort of failed to make that clear sorry.
The services which were partially funded by the NHS but also by Local Authority & central government have been culled dramatically. Its difficult to blame the NHS because the rug was pulled from underneath them

but there are also a number of non NHS provisions which have been cut.

Community health care only about half is via the NHS.

Community health services explained | The King's Fund

This includes standalone NHS community trusts and combined community and acute or mental health trusts. It has been estimated that NHS providers hold around half of the total value of community service contracts, with the rest being held by providers including community interest companies, local authorities, social enterprises, private providers, GP practices and pharmacies (Gershlick and Firth 2017).
