That sounds like it might be up my street.

It's by the same guy who wrote and directed another of my favourite films, In Bruges, which also stars Colin Farell. Which reminds me of another good film, The Guard, starring Brendan Gleeson.

Pukka film though the missus won't watch it because they were nasty to that poor old dog. The prequel, That'll Be The Day is good too. The British rock scene 1950s - 70s is well represented - Billy Fury, Ringo Starr, Keith Moon as well as yer man Essex all making an appearance.

I'd like to get hold of Slade in Flame but, by all accounts, it's no longer available.

Edit: Just checked Amazon & I appear to be correct - you can get a US import but it's £42

Baby Driver is a great film
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

                Dirty Harry.

                Magnum Force.

                The Enforcer.

                Unforgiven.

                In the Line of Fire.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.

For a Few Dollars More (my personal favorite).

Where Eagles Dare (Broadsword to Danny Boy, Broadsword to Danny Boy, includes a completely and utterly anachronistic helicopter just for fun).

                Dances with Wolves.

                She wore a yellow ribbon.

                The Shootist.

                Winchester 73.

Not forgetting that perfect Xmas film: The Great Escape.

Oh, and It's a Wonderful Life.

I'm not sure I'd bother with Blade Runner 2049 unless you're insomniac.

                It cures insomnia particularly effectively.

The workprint of Blade Runner (1982) is sufficiently different to be worth a watch.

Rear Window - there was a time when it was on every Xmas eve. I don't know if it's on this year, but if it is I'll definitely be watching. (I have it on DVD, so even if it isn't on TV, I'll watch it anyway).
