A Ukrainian Boeing-737 crashes killing all onboard

Gwd not another one. Never never getting on an aircraft again made by Boeing. The Aldi of aerospace.

A Ukrainian Boeing-737 with more than 170 people from seven countries on board has crashed in Iran.

Iran's Red Crescent said there was no chance of finding survivors.

Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 to Ukraine's capital Kyiv crashed just after taking off from Iran's Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran at 06:12 local time (02:42 GMT).

Ukraine's embassy in Tehran said engine failure caused the crash and there was no link to terrorism.

"According to preliminary information, the plane crashed as a result of an engine failure for technical reasons. Currently, the version of a terrorist attack is ruled out," the embassy said on the Ukraine Foreign Ministry's website.

Among the victims were 82 Iranians, 63 Canadians, 11 Ukrainians including all the crew, 10 Swedes, four Afghans, three Britons and three Germans, Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was cutting short a trip to Oman and flying back to Kyiv. He warned against "speculation or unchecked theories regarding the catastrophe" until official reports were ready.

"My sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of all passengers and crew," he said in a statement.

Some 168 passengers and nine crew members were confirmed to have been registered to fly on the aircraft.

Ukraine International Airlines has suspended flights to Tehran indefinitely. The airline said that the aircraft had had its last scheduled maintenance on Monday.

There may be a more fundamental reason why that particular aircraft crashed.

Yeah reading the reports it last passed whatever checks they do on the 6th January 2020 - so either Ukraine Airlines are lying or it caught a bad cause of missileitis.

The aircraft was relatively new (2016).
Wonder if it was using the similar tech as the 737 Max, this accident also happened during take off

Also these things often seem to happen after a maintenance.

Footage on Twitter has appeared that show the plane was on fire before it crashed:

And during maintenance they will frequently install the latest software patches.

In theory this should be completely unrelated to the Max.

If it was not accidental, one would have to consider which country has a strong dislike for Ukraine and isn't very fussed on Iran either, who might like to get a few shots in.

Ok, so Iran strikes back after the general is killed.

              "uh huh"

Everyone freaks out, ballistic missiles are fired, etc.

              "yeah"

              Except nobody dies.

              "er"

Then a plane crashes unrelated to the crisis and kills 180

              "what?"

Then there's an earthquake near a nuclear plant!

Video footage shows one engine exploding in mid-air just after takeoff. It then plummeted out of control. My bet is on a re-fueling issue at Tehran.

Depends who was on the plane and what they had with them I suppose

Both Iran and Ukraine both super quick to call an accident while plane still burning on the ground makes it even more suspicious

Uhm, pretty sure the 737NG has a fantastic safety record.

What do you mean "another one"?
