    'zactly. There will always be a few people who can adapt, improvise and overcome, but contracting as we knew it, has been terminal for some time and it's now drawing its last breath. All the big talk from contractors and the bodies who claim to be their representation, will come to f**k-all. Just wait until the ones still with their heads in the sand see the PAYE tax bill on £2K a week

      The general population don't vote like that though. They can only swallow short snappy slogans, like get 'Get Brexit Done', 'Oven Ready Deal' or 'Heal the division' or other such crap. Try coming up with a snappy slogan about the erosion of workers rights and make it repeatable by your average Sun or Wail reader.

      Lets be honest, if the tories had eroded workers rights without touching contractors, half the dicks on here would have been cheering. The tears only exist because it's them that will take the giant shafting.

            Thank you to those that read my article :-) I am no writer, and haven't ever written anything massively impacting, my only hope is that if enough of us write enough content, eventually maybe the message will start to sink in; this new legislation has far reaching consequences that the idiots employed by Hector haven't thought about.

            Why would you want to carry dead weight permies sat on the bench for weeks and months waiting for projects, when you can lean your whole operation down to just a handful of business winning sales people and presales techs, only employing the truly technical bods when they're needed, paying them by the hour for deliverables and outcomes? Makes total financial sense to operate that way. Culturally your company will probably be a festering turd, but do company owners really care? Course they don't.

              There is a video on youtube with a guy going sour over being fired from facebook. He is a bit off in his comments but still believe right in what he says.
              Wonder how it is that he hasn’t been sued yet.

                This is going to effect more than contractors though, it's going to be the entire workforce. Once employers start using this as the default over permie then it will cause chaos. How on earth can you have long term financial commitments like a mortgage if you don't know if are going to get paid tomorrow? This is what we have to deal with, for everyone without any appropriate remuneration.

                If this goes mainstream I will be down the bookies straight away for a labour government next time out, it's a certainty.

                    What are you going to do about it? Leave the country? Would you easily get a work visa post brexit britain? You’ll have to make sure that, no matter what, you can make ends meet or go live on street.
