Eeeeh, getting closer. Just phoned a lady friend to see if she was ok. She said her son had been to visit her and was feeling very low, because his wife is in hospital with this damn virus! She said they stayed well apart, I certainly hope so.bloggoth

These stats are a waste of time. Some countries aren't testing mild to moderate cases to avoid looking worse on the scale. This has been the UK's strategy all along.Comment

Hospitalisation rate in Italy is around 40% of all patients and around 7% need ICU beds:
https://www.thelancet.com/journals/l...110-8/fulltext
Based on old data when Italy had around 28k cases, they needed around 6.6k ICU beds. UK ICU capacity:
There were 4,123 adult critical care beds open and 3,423 occupied, giving an
occupancy rate of 83.0%. This is higher than the occupancy rate observed last month, which was
75.3%, and lower than in January 2019 (85.3%).
Statistics >> Critical Care Bed Capacity and Urgent Operations Cancelled 2019-20 Data
~700 ICU beds in total, that is 10% of what Italy is on now.
Why the hell isn't the entire country in lock down if the UK is going down the same path?Last edited by dsc; 22 March 2020, 20:03.Comment
