CUK top tips for permies WFH for the first time?

As we have many seasoned contractors on this site with a wealth of experience working from home, what wisdom can we bestow on those permies issued with a shiny new laptop and skype user account for the first time?

    1. Airport rules apply.
It's clocking off time somewhere so it's perfectly acceptable to enjoy a cheeky glass at your desk, although keep it professional. White wine for work, red to relax. Stick to Chardonnay or Sav blanc for those early morning skype calls before cracking open a bottle of red when it all calms down after lunch.

    2. The P in VPN stands for Private.
Since you're at home without Karen from HR constantly checking up on you now is the time to use your new laptop to enjoy that clown porn the way the makers intended. Since it's a work machine there's no way the family will accidentally stumble on to your browser history.

    2. Keep up work traditions.
It's always someone's birthday in the office so make sure you buy a large variety box of doughnuts and cakes and put them at the end of your desk.

    Any more?

Make sure the camera on the built in webcam has a cover so you never need to get dressed.

Buy asap one of those hardware mouse jiggle or a cock ring and tie it to the mouse from time to time.

1b) There is a global pandemic on, so a Scrampitiser cocktail (home brewed scrumpy and hand sanitiser) is an acceptable 'Make do and mend' substitutes.

Always stick a plaster or some coloured tape over your in-built webcam as soon as you get your laptop.

That way you will remember something is missing if it has been removed.
