Covid-19: Eyes and ears on the ground reports... what isn't being reported?

A medical friend of a friend in London reports they are building at least one huge field hospital, I think they said in a large sports arena, confident the hospitals WILL be overwhelmed.
I've not seen such things in the main news sources, though they are reported in other nations.

We have lots of people in all the major population centres so maybe we should start this thread to simply report what you're seeing where you are, get an honest live feed.

Also - has anyone here actually had it yet or got sick friends/relatives, especially confirmed cases? I know people who are pretty sure they had it but here in the NE it's not known to be very common so I'm fairly dubious.

Here in the NE, rural County Durham... not much. People going about their business a fair bit. People out and about, its quiet but the streets are by no means deserted.

Here on the main road between the M1/M69 junction and Leicester city centre (nearer the city), there aren’t anything like as many pedestrians as usual, but road traffic is still fairly steady - around Sunday afternoon levels or a little less, I’d say.

No tanks etc. rolling past, nor Black Hawk helicopters swooping down over the nature reserve beyond the former Great Central Railway

I guess that must be it. I was told this IS happening. A few friends have friends working in the NHS and their reports and thoughts are uniformly "this is going to be REALLY bad". Far darker than the tone on the news.

I think the worst part is most of the UK, the NHS isn't actually seeing cases yet. They KNOW it is coming and can simply wait for it.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones has shot up by 8% on the news that Trump is going to lift restrictions as soon as he can get away with it.

He should. That will be the end of his presidency as he kills off his base. Something good may come of this after all.
In America the socioeconomic demographic that voted for him will be badly hit.

They've run out of PPE and can't get it to the frontline.
We're about 50% short on beds for bare minimum coverage.
The "ventilators" thing is a bit of a distraction, but a good media story.
The vaccine may be ready by the end of cycle 2.

The big fear is how long until the nurses start dropping.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

All the preppers are also Trump voters. I see a mix on YouTube of "it's a Chinese hoax"/"it's no big deal" and "I've bought a year's worth of MREs and a cow" (the latter not even someone I'd class as a nut/prepper normally)
