UK Gov: We are committed to our NHS frontline staff and will increase testing in the coming weeks

What's wrong with you lot? Do you not see that most questions aren't getting answered by the ever changing UK Government representatives?

If this was a business and the business consistently behaved this way you would rightly point this out. NHS frontline staff are still complaining that they don't even have the correct PPE or enough of this incorrect PPE, nevermind the appropriate PPE, yet the UK Gov are putting a distribution spin on it.

Let's call it what it is: it's the UK Government lying.

Lying consistently and as frequently as before, using spin to the extent that a sizeable number of people doubt the prime minister is even unwell. That's how serious this is: we can't even trust what we are told as the story changes all the time. I currently have a moderate case of Covid19 and those who I have videocalled, to check they are ok, all have the undisguisable very dry cough the more they talk.

Who do we trust more? The GP and hospital doctors stating matter of facts regarding PPE shortages - shortages being NONE in many locations after 2 weeks of useless promises - and their staff aren't able to be tested in most locations, even when they are already with suspected systems. There are multiple mutations of this virus and testing, testing, testing is the WHO guidance.

Some of you act like this a football match and you're defending your team colour regardless of logic; it's pathetic.
Are they lying, or do they just not know the answer?

If they say "we have no idea, sorry", people will panic. The government have a duty of care to not cause a panic. As such, the waffle is a kind of answer that pacifies enough, without telling the great unwashed that those in charge are winging it.

I'm not defending them. But, sometimes we have to accept the reality of the situation.

Lying and spin, the lifeblood of our current incumbents, especially at a cabinet level.
It's not exactly as if they don't have form for it, given past performances.

The questions are generally the same from the MM, on a daily basis, so it shouldn't be too difficult to come up with definitive answers

The medical experts should be stating "We don't know, the government can't tell us either; they are the ones supposedly organising this." It's a necessary step to clarity.

Every day this continues in this fashion more people than is absolutely the minimum possible will die and that is increasingly likely to therefore include the family, relatives, friends and colleagues of those on this forum.

People can be harsh and say "underlying condition? Ah well, they'd die soon anyway", but this is simply isn't true for the most part; part of our kindness in society is keeping those with diabetes and asthma alive rather than lazily avoiding any scientific research into how to better the lives of people with daily health struggles that are, in many cases, no fault of their own.

So Johnson apparently gets the old corona and then another minister followed by an advisor. We then hear that another minister has been isolating for 7 days and is now up and about and then the daily press conference is performed by a different minister to the previous few days. There is something seriously wrong with the cabinet, for a start, why aren't they isolating for the standard 14 days?
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Built of different stuff to the plebs .

Funnily enough there was always a plan in place that 2 PR/Data Science type spooks were going to take over should Cummings and/or Hancock get ill.

These guys were used to run the Brexit campaign, analyse social media data etc. to judge the publics response and manipulate accordingly.

A cynical man would suggest that the Government's PR campaign was continuing to go badly, after the fall of Johnson, so Cummings and Hancock were stood down, using Corona as the perfect excuse.

Notice how the signage was changed on the lecturns, that was probably the 1st change in their approach.

The Orwellian yellow, blue and red sign was amusing, as if the LibDems or Labour even had a say in any of the bulltulip spouted from the mouths of those at the lecterns.

If they had spent as much time coming up with a clear, actionable, plan without the concerns of lies, media analysis and manipulation of the public, via social media, they may have performed far better .

The amount of pro government bots on Twitter is a fine example of the games the government are currently playing.

As a politician you repeat what your medical and science experts say, then if they get it wrong it is them that lose face not you.
They didn't get it wrong - they were lied to:

In the very early stages there was definitely efforts to keep things quiet. This changed once the cat was out of the bag.

Cheers Mark, I'll watch the vid tomorrow, I have something a little more light hearted planned for tonight
