It's not just banks. I've access to certain financial information at client site (Pharma) and have to declare my shares. Also not permitted to trade certain of them during mandated periods.

If only I knew how to use that financial information to my advantage, but I can't even remember the difference between a credit and a debit.

Well you have to get approval for any buys or sells.

I would completely understand if you had insider information or restricted on the purchase of shares for the company you are working for. But to control all investments that we do in your private life seems very drastic.

Kind of feels like you’re at primary school.

It does definitely feel like that, especially when you're working in an area that is nowhere even close to market data

              But those are the rules.

Also, posting on CUK feels like being at primary school.

Yes those are the rules and I guess we have to abide by them.

Not sure how posting on a forum feels like primary school though.

Only this afternoon I spent an hour on the phone to someone for something that should take 5 minutes. We are web devs for a big bank - so very specialist. For various reasons he did not check emails regularly enough. So lost access. Now he has to go back to the beginning!

MrsBP asked how the bank makes money. It took me a few days to work it out. Its a monopoly.

However many stupid rules they have, the morality never changes. But enough of CUK, what about banks....

We've told you before - put your hand up and wait your turn. Then we'll let you reply.
