An example of where correlation _does_ imply causation, IMHO!

And organised as it is, in a top down Soviet style bureaucracy, it's almost certain to be inefficient.
Why don't I have crack? Because I'm not the politician in charge.
If I was I would look at modelling it on successful examples of private-public partnerships as they have in Western Europe, any of which are superior to the NHS.
But possibly that would be impossible given the low IQ of the majority of the Uk population, who would want to "save our NHS" even while its killing them.

UK still behind in cancer survival despite advances - NHS
Yep, this national quasi-religious obsession in the UK with the NHS is utterly ridiculous. It hasn't been the "envy of the World" for decades now.

No it hasn't. Mainly because other countries don't have a manic obsession with not supporting health care with personal insurances. The NHS and HMG even get hammered for outsourcing routine health work to private organisations that can do it better, faster and cheaper, freeing the hospitals for the more acute work...

Although, people ought to take more notice of what the NHS spends its money on. Health care is nowhere near the top of the list.

There will still be public inquiry - just under Labour Govt, likely next year if not earlier.
Nope. He's not in a position to commit to anything. And Cabinet has better things to do than hold a meeting about "should we hold an enquiry at an unspecified date to see how we handled this".

Yeah, the Govt would only commit to having enough tests by specific date, enough PPE and many other things, but public inquiry into biggest crisis since WW2 - NO WAY.

Unless you're terminally stupid, I recommend you don't mention any of this out loud to anyone.

That is exactly how the Government are going to show it as being everybody's problem except theirs. Then they will privatise a bit more of it.

When we then discover that all these firms in the UK couldn't find anyone within government to allow them to supply the hospitals in the UK with a bit of luck the Tory press will actually do us a favour and point that out.

There's loads of it being manufactured in the Uk right now and being sent abroad. Government's fault. No-one else.
