Why the strawman? No country has done things perfectly well. No country has done things perfectly badly. But there's no need to cover up the serious failings of the British government's response, particularly the late imposition of restrictions (Cheltenham festival, Johnson promoting hand shaking in hospitals etc.)

Ironically, going naked will deal with the virus better than wearing rubber and plastic, as the natural bacteria on skin will kill the virus in a short space of time.

Not sure I like the thought of naked nurses though. Despite the old perception (saucy 'carry on' style nurses) many are now obese from stuffing biscuits and cake in themselves at regular opportunities. You can tell the juniors as they tend to be slimmer. Maybe that's one reason so many are succumbing to the virus along with the lack of suitable PPE and exposure to high viral load, they're not all that healthy, and having such a stressful job won't be helping either. [Controversial I know, but the truth is the truth, probably.]
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

One can almost hear the sound of lattes being spat over keyboards in Gurnalot Central HQ.

Countries that managed this well had the restrictions ahead of the events I described. No need for crystal balls either.

Maybe THIS country might have handled things better if those charged with provisioning the NHS (FYI that is NOT HMG but IS in fact the NHS Management and Logistic chain) had actually given themselves some wriggle room with regards to the acquisition of PPE equipment by including local suppliers?

Instead of actually putting all of their eggs in one cheap basket and relying solely upon deliveries from China with their 4-week lead times.

The NHS actually ran an exercise (Yes the NHS, not HMG!) a couple of years ago to test their inherent readiness to deal with a global pandemic of just this nature. They concluded that they were well placed to cope.

Where were all of these "stockpiled" items that we were told about when the wailing and gnashing of teeth over Brexit was being played out?

And as for all of these Care Homes, IIRC 84% of them are privately run companies. Since when is the onus on HMG to ensure these businesses plan for worst case scenarios?

Too many whining limp backsliders trying to mask their own incompetence and lack of foresight by blaming everything on the Government. All aided and abetted of course by a compliant leftie media.

              Just saying......

I shall leave that to moaning cup-half-empties like you to drone endlessly on about.

Gives you a reason to climb out from under your comfort blanket in the morning.
