Jeez this place is full of complete idiots.
The whole world could go vegetarian and have the best hygiene and zoonotic viruses would still pass into humans (maybe at a lesser rate if humans became veggie overnight)
    It's simply inevitable.

And read Spillover by David Quammen who starts his book with a deadly virus that spread from horses to humans in Australia. Not because they ate them.
    Hard Brexit now!

There is very simple way to punish China and make them pay.

The anglophonic countries should declare that name China is incorrect and that from now on, the country should be called Va China in all official language.

Then establish a fee to change their name.

Are you sure about that because a guy on the Internet told me it was 5g networks although a friend of my wife's aunt's housekeeper heard from the parcel deliveryman that it was n fact brought to earth many years ago by aliens and the timer expired so it's just come to fruition now. Or some other bollocks...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

How about calling them Porcelain instead or Tupperware?

You have to remember, facts aren't really relevant where Trump is concerned.

It would be fun to reverse the trend and start internationally recognising the Republic of China as the legitimate Chinese government.

China was slammed for initial COVID-19 secrecy, but its scientists led the way in tackling the virus | Science|Business

“There was an early cover up in Wuhan, perhaps a few days to a week, before the threat was accepted. We will never know if faster action in those first days could have averted the outbreak,” said Ian Jones, professor of biomedical sciences at Reading University.

Despite the initial slow reaction from the government, “There has been a very open dialogue [since] and many research findings from the Chinese experience are now appearing,” says Jones.

In January, a team led by Yong-Zhen Zhang, of the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Centre & School of Public Health, published the initial viral genome on two open-access sites, drawing praise for the swiftest sequencing effort ever. Later that month, Chinese doctors and scientists reported the first description of the new disease in the Lancet medical journal.
A Complete List of Trump’s Attempts to Play Down Coronavirusl

[President Trump made his first public comments about the coronavirus on Jan. 22, in a television interview from Davos with CNBC’s Joe Kernen. The first American case had been announced the day before, and Kernen asked Trump, “Are there worries about a pandemic at this point?”

The president responded: “No. Not at all. And we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”

"Despite the initial slow reaction of the government."

Hold our beer while we get a list of dissidents together to round up while we're in lockdown morelike.

They knew about it in early December. Mid-January, China and the WHO were still telling the world that it wasn't transmittable from human to human.
