Was it for a larf? If so you underestimate people's gullibility - I can believe the information I've received that people have lost money following the cryptocurrency thread, but you cannot overestimate people's stupidity and greed in these matters.

So what to do with this thread? A question that I am pondering at the moment...

I'm sorry to hear that, really I am. Who what where when or is it just speculation? It is a highly volatile asset class and you don't expose yourself with more than you can afford to lose. Remarkable folks have lost money since the lows of 2017, all you need to do is hold. 98% of investors will fail at this first hurdle.

I know folks that have lost money following the AMD thread.. point is people are losing money all the time because of financial illiteracy & emotion, you can't blame others for your mistakes.

The cryptocurrency thread is intended to be about the wonderful technology that is blockchain, not about price speculation, even if that pops up time and again by myself or others, which is fun. Blockchain tech will transform the internet and IT services throughout the next 10 years, we're about to enter an entrepreneur boom over the next ten years.

Bitcoin has fluctuated for years and has been the subject of conspiracy theories about whose interests it serves and all sorts. Cryptocurrency is a nice idea in principle but with the likes of the Mt Gox fiasco and it being associated with the dark web and criminal activity, people are reluctant to embrace it too much.

All blockchain does is provide great certainty that a sequence of transactions hasn't been tampered with, how will that transform IT services which for the most part aren't simple transactions? You also need to trust that the blockchain itself is what you think it is
