    IT is seen as an overhead to be minimised in the majority of companies (at least in UK + Europe).

    In the old days it was seen an an enabler and differentiator.

      There is going to be plenty of people without jobs needing to do something, so by scaling down the IT, the governments will have a reason to hire those people to do menial work like moving paper from one desk to another.

            The old days when you have a five minute chat with a new client on the phone and tell them you don't know how to do what they want ... they then ask "can you start Monday?". That was for an LM80 driver in Windows to get fan speed / temperatures etc, none of this full stack, agile, test driven Bulltulip.
