    Default 7.5 million jobs furloughed

UK furlough scheme extended until end of October | Sharecast.com

If you include the public sector, the State is now paying the wages of well over half the working population.

No wonder they're keen to relax the lockdown.

It’s the “sponsors” of the Tory party who push for it

A link from a website nobody considers reliable and that people haven't used or heard of before... great.

Have you considered using more reliable sources to influence your opinion? It's a slippery slope from dodgy websites such as that one, ending up quoting ZeroHedge.

Stick to reliable newspaper sources or, better still, trustworthy analysis from known decent researchers, universities and those without vested interests promoting rubbish to just generate advertising revenue.

Jesus, which side of the bed did you get out of this morning?

Google furlough 7.5m if you want an alternative.

The furloughing has by necessity been rushed through without any proper checks and balances, and as a result there is a lot of money being wasted. Two of my school age kids have been furloughed from their zero hours part time jobs and are over the moon. No school, no work and free money. The youngest has just announced that he wants to buy a new mousepad for £70

It's likely almost entirely a waste of money.

The only businesses it will help are the ones that were probably due to go bankrupt anyway.

How many people have really been at a company for long enough to accrue serious redundancy rights?

Not only will we have more zombie companies, but we're now going to end up with zombie employees who should have been laid off themselves.

I wonder how many of those 7.5M are jobless as soon as any company contribution to furlough is needed or furlough ends.

Friends of mine seem blissfully naive to this reality.
