The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has declared the death of George Floyd a homicide, saying he died of “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual restraint, and neck compression”.

The updated report from the examiner stated that Floyd died from a loss of blood flow due to compression on his neck while being restrained by Minneapolis police.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

So not asphyxia then? Odd they don't agree.

2 Autopsies Released In George Floyd’s Death, From Hennepin County And Independent Group – WCCO | CBS Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The attorney representing George Floyd’s family says the findings of an independent autopsy have determined that Floyd died of asphyxiation from sustained pressure. However, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s final autopsy report contains more information from toxicology reports.According to a statement, attorney Ben Crump revealed the results of the autopsy performed by medical examiners Dr. Michael Baden and Dr. Allecia Wilson, and called for charges against fired MPD officer Derek Chauvin to be amended to first-degree murder.
Crump said that the independent autopsy determined that “sustained pressure on the right side of Floyd’s carotid artery impeded blood flow to the brain, and weight on his back impeded his ability to breathe.”
He added that the two medical examiners determined that having handcuffs on and his position impaired the ability for his diaphragm to function. They also said it appears he died at the scene.
“What we found is consistent with what people saw. There is no other health issue that could cause of contribute to the death. Police have this false impression that if you can talk, you can breathe. That’s not true,” Baden said.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office says that the manner of death is homicide, and listed as the cause of death cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression. Their report also listed other significant conditions, including arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease, fentanyl intoxication and recent use of methamphetamine.
Strange the Drugs & Disease weren't noticed by the second Autopsy, do you think they made them up on the first one? The first autopsy suggests they cut the blood off to the brain via the neck, the second that whoever was sitting on the chest helped kill him.

It does though look like both believe it is murder, lets see what happens at trial.

Interesting reading, i imagine Chauvin's Lawyers will mention these:

NAT called it just above. Vetran likes to try to fit reality around his beliefs.

do you not think the two autopsies should agree? if they don't why not?

Two differing autopsies sets it up nicely for the trial to be chaotic....

Sad thing is that you need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture otherwise history will keep repeating itself. The cop wasn't born racist. He was conditioned by influences in his life. It's the influences that need to be changed. The looters aren't helping their cause, which is a shame.

That seems to be the plan. Confuse & confound then take the money.

Not sure he is provably racist. Did you see any racist behaviour? I agree there was apparently excessive restraint of an ill person who was intoxicated (ME report) but assuming that is down to race based on skin colour seems to be prejudice surely?

Did Mr Chauvin use racist language or gestures in the videos? Has he done so previously.

So far apart from assumptions based on his colour and an interview with someone who employed him for ~ 17 years who said he seemed to be rougher with the clients on nights with African American clientele (he was fine with Latino and others apparently) but never fired him or disciplined him on record there have been no signs of racism I have seen.

His soon to be ex wife has an Asian appearance, that seems to make his alleged racism somewhat complex. He was a police officer for 18 years and had 18 complaints raised against him only 2 resulting in discipline action.

Derek Chauvin: What we know about the former officer charged in George Floyd’s death

Only two of the 18 complaints were "closed with discipline," according to a MPD internal affairs public summary. In both cases, Chauvin received a letter of reprimand.
According to Communities Against Police Brutality, a Minnesota nonprofit that created a database of complaints against officers in the state, Chauvin received oral reprimands for using a "demeaning tone," "derogatory language" and other language that merited discipline.
Note no mention of racist language, as the complaints aren't public we don't know who the complainants are or what race they were.

He must have stopped 10+ suspects a day 18.6% are black in Minneapolis so he probably stopped 2 black people a day, 200 days a year (conservative estimate) for 18 years yet this muscle dragging racist hasn't had any legal action against him despite having conservatively 7,200 opportunities (not counting at the nightclub) to show his racism.

The restraint method used was still permitted by his Police department.

Again I expect this to end like Oakland with a manslaughter or negligence verdict. but as we can see that won't be acceptable and some people here will still tilt a windmills.

I suspect there is racism in American law enforcement - we all inherently are apparently. But crying racism where its not provable does seem foolish. As Mr Floyd's Brother & (saint) President Obama is counselling restraint and caution I suggest we follow their advice and wait until we get to court.
