It did, the conservatives put the risk back on the customers as requested years ago they have reacted accordingly. Now you have to convince customers that you want to be treated as a contractor but they won't give it free. You have a choice again.

The choice now is going permie or go hungry. And this is from Tory govt that promised to fight the injustice of the punitive Labour tax on the freelance, knowledge based economy.

no there are now 4 actual choices.

            1. Permie
            2. Fixed term contract
            3. Inside IR35 bum on seat. Decided by client.
            4. Outside IR35. negotiated with client.

My point is that an earlier lock down would have damaged the economy even more. You can't have it both ways.

An earlier lock down would have meant a shorter one with less damage to the economy.

                      Er, what?

The sooner country's initiated lockdown, the sooner they came out of lockdown, even quicker. If England had waited another fortnight, it has been stated that lockdown would've been two and a half times as long as it was, as the number of infections and spreadability would have been far higher.

The less infections, the lesser length of each lockdown. Ours continues because they messed about for at least a fortnight.
