      I would change it the new address as you have evidence of the house move from the old address.

      Do you have any correspondence with the DVLA as proof you have tried to register, also ask the insurer to put a note on the file it is being processed.

          Try getting a (new) quote for the new digs, but starting in 1 month from now, the sweet spot is the 4->3 weeks before renewal. After that, price goes up as your flexibility (timescale) goes down.

          Your current insurer is probably banking on you not looking mid cover, so stiffing you.
