Yeah, I get how normal shorts work, but what Pooper is doing - is it even proper short where tulipcoin is borrowed? Nobody checks in what those tulip frauds doing, with all that “scarcity”, who can verify that all those shorts are covered with real tulip?

And what if Tulipcoin drops to zero, who can guarantee payout will happen ?

      Exactly!

Tulipcoin market is certainly manipulated in a way that helps generate those technical charts for Mor Ons like Pooper to make bets on certain dogs with fleas

Have you bought any yet? You know you want to... don't fight it.

Take a long position. Take an equal and opposite short position. Take the profit on the position that wins and ignore the position that loses.

This is not how market works.
Without shorters , there will not be proper pricing of a stock which finds its correct value eventually.
Stock goes down due to shorting because it was overvalued to begin with. its a fine balance between longs and shorts.

Back in early the 2000's I worked on a commodity trading floor in London. For a large, well known, trading house.

I got involved with some development work for the internal auditors and read through a number of the reports. One report was to do with the institution's attempts to quietly unwind a disastrous position taken by one of the traders.

The line that always stuck with me said:

"Even though she has lost $75M, she still maintains her trading strategy is correct"

That was back in the day when $75M was considered a lot of money.

The trader wasn't stupid. She had access to all the best pricing information, graphs, technical analysis and market information money can buy. But she was still wrong and unable to admit that to herself which prevented her taking action in a timely manner to stop the losses spiralling out of control.

So my question to Scooter is: Do you have an exit strategy in case you are wrong? And will your character allow you to take the action required should things start moving substantially against you?

It's always better to have a plan written down when things are calm, rather than trying to make up one on the hoof when everything is falling apart.

                      BS

If somebody thinks that fair value for an asset is lower than they can place legally binding bid to buy X at that price, this is fine by me. That’s not the same as borrowing asset to sell in attempt to push market down, or even as it happens now making public intentions hoping others will join selling - this is all market manipulation, it does not help achieve fair value pricing.

Or margin trading, what a load of crap - people who can’t afford to buy asset in full should not be in the market at all, this crap only exists to suck in retail gamblers who think they can “read the charts”
