Well that did not take long -

Coronavirus: Pubs close after positive tests - BBC News

Thanks to names taken in pubs it should not be a problem (in theory) to find out soon effects of spread, which would become scientific reason to shut them down again...

Yeah but I gave my name as Mrs Smith and gave the address of the pimp I know who lives down the road...

(In reality I didn't go out but you could easily lie.)

Ah so they didn't ask for ID? All licensed establishments are allowed to ask for proof of age which, for a lot of people, is something like a driver's license.

Closing the pub is really only to make sure the staff are ok, rather than because there's something inherently wrong with the venue. I heard about it on the radio this morning and it was only several minutes into the piece that they explained this.

Indeed they closed a takeaway for a deep clean as one of their drivers went into the pub kitchen. The takeaway is opening up on Friday.

Opening in door eating/drinking is going to fail even before 2nd wave hits, now if the virus was supressed to a dozen of cases per day then maybe it would be feasible, but not with half a thousand detected with real number being at least 10 times more - AND tracing can't reach like 20% of people who tested positive, wtf!

The pubs I normally go into don't ask for ID as they are on residential streets.

The ones that have a dance floor on/near high strreets ask for ID but only after about 7-8pm.

No way! The Lighthouse in Burnham on Sea...

Maurice and Bren do a fantastic carvery and my missus loves their karaoke evenings. I hope they're back up and running again soon.

Apparently it was pretty quiet round here.
